On 15th July, an international social science conference was held at the University of Lahore (UOL), which constituted of various themes related to social sciences fields. Director of CCPS Dr. Fatima Sajjad was invited by UOL to present her paper at the conference.
Dr. Fatima addressed some of the themes of the international conference including conflict, human rights, education, and related concepts.
She presented her research paper entitled "Rethinking education to counter violent extremism: a critical review of policy and practice". The paper mainly explores the alarming phenomenon of violent extremism on university campuses. Subsequently, it probes why education fails to prevent violent extremism and offers critical perspectives to examine policy discourses that aim to prevent violent extremism through education.
